Here we present another chapter from Charles Weisman’s book, Is Universalism Of God? — where he addresses the false idea that God’s laws and punishment for their transgression are universal — rather than specifically for the 12 tribes of Israel, His covenant people.
Weisman writes,
God’s Law & Judgment
If God’s law and judgments are ascribed only to His Israel people, then that marks a racial division which the Christian Universalists simply cannot tolerate — and so they must find ways of dismantling it. As one humanist Christian stated,
“We can dogmatically say that the whole human race was/is accountable to ‘The Law’ because all men are included in God’s judgment against sin.”
Yet in Psalm 147:19 & 20 we read this fact regarding God’s law and judgments:
“He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.”
“He has not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them.”
Universalist and humanist Christians will never address specific verses such as these — instead they will quote only vague or general verses and project onto them their modern beliefs. And by doing so, they thus have the Bible in constant conflict with itself.
[CFT Note: Modern Christians will always misuse the term “nation” to mean a literal country or nation-state with geo-political borders rather than in the biblical sense from the Greek “ethnos” or race, tribe or bloodline — see Strong’s 1484]
The false assumption upon which these Universalists rely is that any judgment upon any person or any nation is a judgment under the Law-Covenant, which shows that all people are in covenant with God — and therefore are under the New Covenant.
Of course, no part of this reasoning is correct.
In an attempt to show how all people and all races are under the Law and Covenant, Universalists will point out that in Jeremiah 25 (Babylon), 47 (Philistines), 48 (Moab), 49 (Ammonites), 50 (Chaldeans), and Ezekiel 25 (Ammonites) there are judgments upon different non-Israelite nations — such as Babylon, Egypt, Edom, Tyre, Philistia, etc.
However, none of these judgments are due to non-Israelites violating the Covenant — most are due to the wicked things these nations have done against Israel or Jerusalem.
God has the right to bring judgment upon any of His creations because of the creator-creature relationship — not because they are obliged to the law by way of a covenant.
[CFT Note: God also uses the non-Israelite nations — or peoples — as a rod of chastisement to punish His Israelite people for their transgressions — see Pslams 78, Hosea 10:10, & Jeremiah 30:14]
Even animals can do “wicked” things which bring judgment upon them — for example,
”If an ox gores a man or a woman to death, then the ox shall surely by stoned.”
–Exodus 2l:28
Clearly, the ox was not under the Law-Covenant, yet it did something wicked to God’s people and could be killed for its acts. Likewise, if a king or nation is said to be wicked, it does not mean they are therefore under a Law-Covenant.
Actually, God’s judgment existed before the Old Covenant, as in the case of Sodom.

However, after the Covenant was established with Israel, God would bring judgment upon other peoples, but unless it involves His Israel people in someway, this would be a rare occurrence.
For instance, why is it that there is no record — sacred or secular — of God punishing the Negroes in Africa for their great many pagan practices, cannibalism, murder, voodoo, and human sacrifice to idols? Israel surely would certainly be punished for such wickedness.

The answer is simple — Israel are sons of God and so they are chastised by God:
“For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastises every son He receives. Endure suffering as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? If you do not experience discipline like everyone else, then you are illegitimate children and not true sons.”
–Hebrews 12:6-7
God makes it clear that He “knows” only Israel as sons — and will punish them accordingly:
“You [Israel] only have I chosen among all the families of the earth; Therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.”
–Amos 3:2
However the Negroes are not sons of God — nor did they dwell in the lands where they could do harm to Israel — and therefore God did not chastise them for their pagan ways.

Jeremiah 11:3 says,
“Cursed is the man who does not obey the words of this covenant.”
Universalists will claim that “the man” here in verse 3 is obviously any man who breaks the Ten Commandments — however, the previous verse clearly identifies to whom this curse specifically refers:
“Hear the words of this covenant, and speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.”

Again Universalists will claim that Isaiah 24 — taken out of context –describes God’s judgment against all “the inhabitants of the earth”:
“The earth is also polluted by its inhabitants, for they transgressed laws, violated statutes, broke the everlasting covenant.”

However, “the earth” — or erets from the Hebrew — in this chapter does not refer to the entire planet, but rather to only the land of Judah or Israel as in Isaiah 24 verses 1, 3, 5, & 6 — and
“Hear this, O elders, And listen, all inhabitants of the land. Has anything like this happened in your days Or in your fathers’ days?”
–Joel 1:2, [see Jamieson, Fausset & Brown, Commentary on the Bible, vol. 1, p. 457].
Scripture is clear that God made covenants involving the law — and punishments for its violation — only with Israel, as we see in:
“So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone.”

“The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac. Then He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant.”
–Psalms 105:9 & 10
“But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.”
–Isaiah 59:2

I witnessed terrorists being executed, the labor camps, and ghettos. In short, Germany did to the Jew what America did to the Japanese, we put an alien people who declared war on us, in camps. The only difference is that America was not being ruthlessly bombed so their inmates escaped the war unharmed. The Allies, killing hundreds of prisoners, for example, bombed Buchenwald; we believed the camps would be left alone since these were prison camps. The goal our government put into practice was to remove most Jews out of our sphere of influence and move them east where they came from. There were small nuances, as some were left alone due to service to the Reich, some of mixed marriage were allowed to stay and even helped us fight. Most Jews though, even if it was in small ways, worked against us, and even aided the Allies when they could. The SD uncovered lots of cells in Ghettos were illegal activity was happening. These Jews were moved to areas where they could be watched, or sent east to camps to be resettled after the war.
The problem for us, is that due to the filth that many of these Jews brought with them, many became sick in the camps. There were several outbreaks that happened where we had to quickly dispose of the dead, ovens were built for this purpose. The allied propagandist had a golden ticket with the photos of these ovens. Towards the end of the war, many camps were left to the enemy, however many prisoners requested to go with German troops, as they were hearing of the treatment of prisoners under the Russians. It was decided to allow inmates to move to the Reich so we could keep using them for labor, they were crammed into camps that were way over capacity. The Allies had knocked out and destroyed our infrastructure so that no food, medicine, or necessities could get to anyone. Our own population was suffering greatly in some areas where basic sanitation no longer existed. The already weakened inmates fell victim now to typhus and other curable diseases, the Allies unknowingly caused the deaths of tens of thousands of these people who we had no intention of harming.
Can I ask why you think Germany lost the war?
Wolff: Oh, that is a tough one. My thoughts are that we were never ready for war, and always outnumbered. So we lost due to sheer numbers, it is so very simple. I was present during a briefing at the FHQ regarding Russia. Our generals and Abwehr gave the Führer false numbers for Russia that made us commit fewer forces in the opening than we should have. We were led to believe that Stalin had every intention of attacking the Reich, and Europe, so we mobilized forces to counter this, and it was decided we would attack first to beat them to the punch, hopefully knocking them out quickly.
We were briefed that Stalin had purged his army, and his forces were weak and disorganized, the sheer numbers, 65 million vs 170 million, though bothered the Führer. He was assured that German equipment and tactics would win the day. When the invasion started, we were astonished at the vast amount of material that was being captured in Poland and the Baltic regions. It tended to prove our fears that Stalin was planning an attack on us. The vast Russian armies were able to escape and keep retreating east, and since we gained air superiority, we could defeat the masses as they indeed were disorganized when they did choose to stand and fight.

I read through your linked essay. One thing I’m not clear on is your interpretation of Romans 11. The parable of the Olive Tree seems clear. The tree represents Israel, the natural branches are the Israelite tribes who kept the faith (the southern tribes), and the wild olive branches are those “lost tribes”, the 10 northern tribes that were cut off, divorced from God.
It should be noted that from the perspective of the Israelites of Judea (those who kept the faith), the other 10 “lost” tribes, the “uncircumcised”, were “gentiles”.
Are you claiming that non-Israelites are counted among the “wild olive branches”? If so, how can they be if they aren’t from the Olive Tree in the first place?
Genesis 10:5 is the first instance in the OT which uses the term “gentiles” or “goyim” in Hebrew i.e., the nations. We are told that the “gentiles” are only those nations descended from Noah and his sons.
Are you suggesting that everyone on the planet descended from Noah and his sons, and that everyone on the planet can therefore be considered to be “gentiles” or “the nations”?

For the record — I used to be a Universalist. The reason I am not any longer is mostly because the arguments coming from the Universalist Advocates, are usually attached with Ad Hominem and charges of Racism and threatening those who do not believe in Universalism with Eternal Damnation. The other problem I have with Universalists, is that they want me to believe that Adam and Eve are the progenitors of all the peoples of the world. I have a friend who is a Revisionist Historian of Southern History. He has collected many old books — Christian writers no less — and by reading them, you can tell that their “intentions” were pure.
It is hard to know for sure i.e., REMOVE the Jew from the equation and what would WE have done for White/black relations.
In my opinion, had we followed through on the Liberia Project, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. It’s a bit misleading to claim the Chinese invented “paper”. What they “invented” was a thin layer of smashed wood/bamboo pulp that when dried could be written upon. In no way was this “paper” useful on a mass scale.
It was incredibly crude compared to the European invention of thin, uniform paper, and it was the Europeans who first invented the processes to mass produce sheets of paper as we know it today.

Have you ever been to West Virginia? I have, many times, and the pockets of inter-generational poverty are the exceptions, not the rule at this point.
West Virginians have the same DNA as Virginians, and no one talks about them the way you do. So what’s the difference in outcome between the two?
Virginia had a thriving agricultural economy whereas the terrain of West Virginia made that difficult, if not impossible.
Largely, it’s the coal mining industry, which dominated West Virginia for many generations. These companies were highly exploitative and violent in keeping the workers in poverty. And when they went out of business (for political reasons), there was nothing left for the people to do to earn a living.
Many left the state, and the ones that remained were either elderly or the least motivated. Their failures cannot be compared to blacks who don’t have the IQ or motivation to build anything on their own.
In the long run, West Virginia will prosper because it is largely still White and the economy will shift to other resources besides coal. It’s one of the most beautiful states in the Union. Don’t write them off.

Hello. I was slow to make the connection, but I realize now the direction you were leaning. You have shared that your husband is in the military. I do not believe your family is now cursed because you are affiliated with the military.
I remember shortly after Nine Eleven — I was trying to figure out how I could join up and “Fight them over there — so we don’t have to fight them over here!”

Thank you, for addressing my question to Sparrow. It did take me a bit off guard; however, I am not blind nor am I fool. I know, military men are being used (most likely), unbeknownst to them. Many I know, feel they are fighting for the right side or a good cause, we were once those people.
