Of going to school with holes in your shoes, having wet feet in wet weather, of your parents loving their children to try to do things and give them things , going in debt at Christmas for their children and suffering the rest of the year with bill collectors wanting money. Of wearing pajamas under your clothes to school because you have no decent underclothes. Of digging gardens by hand, and the same cultivating them. Of friends and relatives giving clothes to parents for children. Pick fruit and vegetables for neighbor farmers for money, cleaning manure , milking cows, feeding chickens and hogs every day, making hay etcor other things blue collar workers did. Or of your father , having to fix or try to fix his own cars or figure what is wrong with them to go to work. Of working all the overtime when called out early or called when he works overtime by the mill and never taking vacations ,but working for the extra money.
