Roger Waters, one of the founders of the band Pink Floyd, issued a rare and disjointed apology to Jews everywhere for using an alleged “antisemitic trope” to describe billionaire Jewish-American Zionist-Firster Sheldon Adelson:
Last week, Waters denounced Zionism as an “ugly stain” that must be removed from the world, and called Adelson – a major donor to Jewish and Israeli causes – a “right-wing fascist racist bigot”.
Waters also accused Adelson of being the “puppet master” of President Donald Trump, and blamed Israel for the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, pushing a conspiracy theory that Israel trained the police officers to use military techniques for law enforcement.
Waters, a long-time backer of the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, in the past compared Israel to Nazi Germany and released a giant balloon pig bearing the Star of David
But on Friday, Waters issued a rare apology, retracting some – though not all – of his recent comments.
The musician said that his claim that Adelson controls President Trump evoked “an anti-Semitic trope”, and walked back his support for the conspiracy theory that Israel was responsible for American law enforcement’s use of the choke technique which killed George Floyd.
“After speaking with Palestinian and Jewish colleagues and friends, I’ve come to understand that some remarks I made during a recent TV interview, about Palestinians suffering under decades of Israeli military occupation and apartheid, have caused some deep offense. Naturally, this is the last thing I would ever want to do, particularly within a justice movement which I care about so passionately,” Waters wrote on his website.
“I used words that evoked metaphorical imagery which, my friends said, were ‘harmful to Jewish people and to the movement for Palestinian rights’ – and for this, I’m very sorry.”
“I had no idea that I was evoking an antisemitic trope. I regret any harm or hurt my use of words caused Jewish people, and also any ways it may have reinforced damaging lies about Jews.”
Waters used the rest of his apology, however, to accuse Israel of being an “apartheid” state, and to accuse the US of “the genocide of millions of indigenous people”.
“As we all know, the USA — a country built on the genocide of millions of Indigenous people, on the enslavement of millions of Africans and on the systemic racism which has persisted since the end of slavery — is clearly not waiting for Israel to teach it how to kill Black and Brown people. American police have been murdering Black people with impunity since the first slave patrols.”
Clearly, Roger Waters appears to be a card-carrying radical Liberal ideologue and self-hating White man who repeats simplistic lies about the evils of his own White race, while promoting the preposterous romantic “trope” of the “noble savage”.
Ironically, he learned these radical ideas from the Pro-Zionist, Jewish-controlled media and publishing industry — and yet he passes these radical subversive ideas off as his own.
People of Color™ and Indigenous People™ — whatever that means — can do no wrong in his eyes, while the evil White man commits “genocide” and steals their land.
He probably counts Jews among those evil White people who are killing Palestinians — because that’s what all White people do for fun.
And now all of a sudden he’s somehow become concerned about the feelings of Jews? Seriously?
Perhaps he needs to be reminded that Donald Trump admitted he moved the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem and approved the annexation of the Golan Heights as a personal favor to his financial backer — and puppet master — Sheldon Adelson.
Or remind him that the Jewish supremacist organization the Anti-Defamation League admits to paying for U.S. police to visit Israel to learn their “anti-terror” strategies, including knee-on-neck choke holds, which a member of the Israeli Consul in Chicago admitted to.
Granted, the Israelis didn’t force U.S. police to use these lethal techniques — it was merely a friendly suggestion.
But if these facts “offended” or “hurt the feelings” of any Jews, then Roger Waters is truly sorry.
All of which goes to prove once again that there’s nothing more insulting to a Jew than the truth, according to Nobel Prize winner Alexander Solzhenitsyn.
Roger Waters is not a deep thinker on issues. He’s a robotic knee jerk liberal. All his Leftist ideas are Jewish, even his anti-zionist stance, which many American and European Jews share. Both of his parents were communists! Look it up. He’s a hopeless idealist who believes all races can live together in peace and security. Thanks. So Roger Waters has two sons from two different mothers. Harry Waters, the musician with blond dreadlocks, and Jack Fletcher Waters. I assume the older one, Harry, is married to a Jew, and has Jewish children–but the article doesn’t mention any grandchildren, unless I missed it….can’t find any pictures of Harry Waters with his Jewish wife or kids. Strange.
In the 1st line of the paragraph I mentioned it says “(Roger) Waters has Jewish grandchildren from his Jewish daughter-in-law.”
Other than that I have no idea.
Lets take a simple issue. The claim that Israel uses apartheid like in South Africa is based on a possible outcome, not the current situation. I South Africa nine out of ten people were black. In Israel the majority, even when you include the so called occupied territories, is Jewish. The Apartheid concern is that if Israel combines the territories with its own, it will be force to establish an Apartheid like system. Maybe yes or maybe not. Any sane nation would have sent away people who attacked it. Who said that Jews are smart?
Some simple facts. The Israeli Arabs, those who have Israeli citizenship, are 20% of the population. 40% of the medical doctors, (with the help of government incentives) are Arabs. Almost all the pharmacists in Israel are Arabs. They have parliament members and parties. Some serve as judges, teachers and own businesses.
In the past we were cowards. Now we are too good fighters and we teach US police how to fight.
In the White areas of South Africa, Whites were the vast majority, even more than the Jews in Israel. Apartheid insured that. I personally think Apartheid was good for Blacks and Whites, and I believe it was the moral thing to do to preserve SA. Blacks had much better lives overall under Apartheid. Now not so much.
The difference is that the Whites in SA weren’t killing Blacks and stealing their land on an ongoing basis as the Israelis are. Apartheid was generally peaceful, except when the Jewish communists in the ANC riled up the Blacks. The Whites occupied that land when it was empty and built it up. The Jews took over a land that was already occupied. Lots of differences. Comparing to SA to Israel is political. Not real.
